'The Alexander Technique may be offered to benefit people with PD by helping them to make lifestyle adjustments that affect both the physical nature of the condition and the person's attitude to PD.' (Recommendation 79).
'Making the most of a difficult situation, the design of car seats puts the hip joint lower than the knees This is not an easy way to sit, but at least I can get my bottom deep into the seat, my back straight with the weight going down in to the seat, and my head touching the head rest'
'You see a lot of people driving like this, hunched over the wheel, urging the car faster - it doesn't work! Tension in the arm and shoulders pull on the neck and driving like this will make you tired quickly'
'This position puts weight through the spine in ways it is not designed to cope with. I find it aches between my shoulder blades if I drive like this.'
